About NCC

We started hand pouring small batches of soy candles as a hobby in the basement of our home. We knew by the interest from our friends and family, that we had something special. But how could we succeed in such a competitive market of talented candle makers?

As we were pouring candles one night, while our two Newfoundland dogs Chloe & Winnie laid at our feet an idea came to us, “The Newfoundland Candle Company”, where a portion of the proceeds from every candle sale goes towards The Newfoundland Rescue of New England and to the Sterling Massachusetts Animal Shelter.

Since then, we have been honored and humbled by the many people who have supported our little candle company, that in turn, supports these two organizations.

Why Choose Us

Eco Friendly

The cotton core wick is made with 100% cotton fibers, which produces a robust flame, yet reduces carbon build up.

Hand Poured

Our 100% natural soy candles are hand poured into a 12oz recycled glass mason jar. Simplicity is beautiful.

Charity

We believe in supporting local causes, which is why a portion of the proceeds of all our candle sales go to local Charities.

The Sterling Animal Shelter

The mission of Animal Shelter Inc. is to operate a no-kill animal shelter with no time or age restrictions. The shelter provides humane sheltering and high quality medical care for stray, unwanted, abused and neglected animals.  These animals are sheltered in our facilities and foster homes until they find loving, lifelong homes.

Our staff and volunteers are dedicated to finding good homes for our animals.   We always strive to to promote responsible pet ownership and to improve the quality of life for the animals and people in our community. The Shelter is supported entirely by donations from private individuals and through surrender and adoption fees. Animal Shelter, Inc. does not receive support from from federal, state or local governments. Our on-site veterinary clinic cares for almost 3,000 animals that come through our shelter yearly and provides a low/no cost spay/neuter, general wellness program assisting local citizens, animal control officers, other shelters and breed rescue groups.

Our shelter is a clean, well run, family friendly animal shelter with progressive programs that will improve lives by raising the bar for animal care in our shelter and in our community.
